Supplements That May Be Helpful to Prevent Respiratory Infectious Diseases like Covid19

There is multiply ways to prevent and protect ones self against Covid19.  Our current state of protection requires us to  lockdown, put on personal protective equipment and vaccinate. However this won’t be enough to prevent and protect us against deadly viruses and future pandemics. Living a healthy lifestyle is really the only solution to prevent disease. How we re-act when illness is present, is another approach. It still doesn’t take away the importance of a healthy mindset and  proper nutrition is to maintain optimal function. When we lack sufficient nutrients we dramatically lower our bodies power to fight and protect us from any forms of invaders and to repair and build any cell damage, we become more susceptible to invaders colonizing and cellular degeneration. Obviously diet alone does not provide us with the nutrients we need to optimally function. Which makes daily supplementation essential when we are in pursuit of preventing disease. Especially in 2021 when we are in midst of an infectious disease pandemic.

Here is Holistic Vita’s nutrient based protocol to prevent or minimize symptoms for future viral infections. The following supplemental levels are recommended for adults:

VITAMIN B- COMPLEX: RDA 450 mg – 3,500 mg daily. ( because this supplement is made up of all the B’s, there are different recommended daily allowances. Find the company with the highest  combined RDA to supplement with)

The B vitamins help to build and maintain a healthy immune system. Deficiency in Vitamin B predisposes people to infections more easily.

VITAMIN C: 2,000 mg – 6,000 mg or more daily. (in divided doses)

Did you know that humans do not produce vit C? This is why it is extremely important to supplement with it.

Vitamin C boosts the immune system and is a super fighter against infections. #anti-oxidant #anti-inflammatory

VITAMIN D3/K2: 2,000 IU daily. (begin with higher dose 5,000 IU for 2 weeks then reduce to 2,000 IU) * a person with darker skin may need twice as much.

Vitamin D supports and regulates the immune and nervous systems. Which improves resistance against infections and diseases.

NAC (N-acetyl cysteine): 600 mg twice a day.

NAC is a powerful antioxidant that detoxifies your respiratory tract and lungs. Clearing mucous from airways. There is a lot of  scientific literature on this powerful antioxidant.

ZINC: 40 mg daily. (zinc reduces the amount of copper your body absorbs, and high doses of zinc can cause a copper deficiency. Supplement with 2mg of copper when taking zinc. Or can buy the zinc/copper supplement together. Many companies offer both minerals together.

Zinc is required for proper functioning of the immune system. It is a PRO-OXIDANT

MAGNESIUM: 400 mg daily. (biglycinate, malate, citrate, chloride or chelate)

Magnesium protects organs and tissue damage through multiple mechanism including anti-oxidation, anti-inflammation and immune regulating.

SELENIUM: 400 mg daily.

Selenium strengthens the immune system and increases ones natural killer cells.
